🛠️ PC Building Guide
Why Build vs Buy?
Building your own PC saves 20–40% compared to pre-builts, gives you better parts, and makes upgrading easy. Pre-builts often use low-quality PSUs and cooling.
CPU + Motherboard Compatibility
AMD AM4 CPUs (Ryzen 5000 series) require AM4 boards (B550/X570). AMD AM5 (Ryzen 7000/9000) requires AM5 boards. Intel 12th/13th Gen uses LGA1700 boards.
RAM: DDR4 vs DDR5
DDR5 offers higher speeds but requires an AM5 or Z690+ Intel board. DDR4 is cheaper and still excellent for most tasks. 32GB is the sweet spot.
GPU Tier Guide
RTX 4060/RX 7600 for 1080p gaming. RTX 4070 for 1440p. RTX 4080/4090 for 4K. For AI/ML, VRAM matters more — get 16GB+ VRAM.
PSU Sizing Rule
Add CPU TDP + GPU TDP + 100W system overhead. For RTX 4090 + 13900K: 250W + 450W + 100W = 800W minimum. Always get 80+ Gold or better.
Storage: NVMe Gen4 Worth It?
For gaming: NVMe Gen4 vs SATA SSD difference is minimal. For video editing and AI: Gen4 speeds (7000 MB/s) significantly speed up large file workflows.
